I'm Mariana Avila Lagunes, a freelance illustrator and character artist from Monterrey, Mexico, who loves creating colorful artwork and memorable, magical moments! Illustrating picture books, board books and activity books both in English and Spanish is what I'm most passionate about.

I graduated Universidad de Monterrey with a degree in Animation and Visual Effects, and studied an Expert Program in Character Design in Madrid.

I love thinking of fun scenes to draw, hiding tiny details that make people smile, and representing Mexican culture! 

 

In my free time you can find me either swimming, bouldering (at a very beginner level!) or hanging with my Frenchie, Pumba.

I'm currently seeking representation, and available for work.
